"In Real life and on paper, forward movement is no tiny feat" --Magnolia

'' we believe that women's health needs a redesign''

We all need trusted information that is empathetic to the many life transitions and roles us women face. Wouldn't it be great if these issues were broken down into actionable & manageable steps AND holistic, down to earth and dare I say it. . .stylish! We don't think any of us are asking for too much.

Do you ever feel like you are navigating the twists and turns of your health and wellness on your own, gathering tidbits here and there with no one to really pull it all together?  Welcome to the club! After having our own health challenges, taking care of thousands of women and having countless conversations with our friends, sisters, mothers, aunts etc. (and all of their friends!) this is a common theme we hear.

In my training at Mayo Clinic I did my research time in the Center for Healthcare Innovation learning processes and using creativity to improve the patient experience.

This drive for improvement led to board certifications in Internal Medicine, Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Medicine. Now I am channeling my learning into Life Coach and Obesity Medicine Certifications knowing that personal development, lifestyle medicine and metabolic health is critical for optimal health.

I consider taking care of people my calling. It is through these 30 years of my experiences in medicine that Winding Forward was born. I know healthcare for women can be better and I want to be part of the solution.

Growing up in an entrepeneurial family with a theater director mom and a dad who was a dentist, I always had a cool mix of science and arts in my life. I credit the theater with teaching me empathy as you are constantly learning how to "walk in someone else's shoes."

The fourth grade was when I decided I was going to be a doctor. That year my teacher's daughter had been diagnosed with cancer and she would come back to school after missing days for her treatment and describe her journey with chemotherapy and the side effects. It was heartbreaking to me and I vowed to do something so others wouldn't have to suffer like her.
